Upon arrival in Cusco, we will warmly welcome you and transfer you to your hotel. After lunch, we will pick you up from your hotel around 12:30 PM. and begin our city tour with Cusco Cathedral, one of the most important temples in Peru, consisting of three buildings called the Basilica, Triumph, and Holy Family. Inside, we can still see walls built with great precision by the Incas, alongside artistic Catholic religious pieces.

We will continue our guided tour by exploring the archaeological sites near Cusco. We will start with Sacsayhuaman, whose name means "satisfied falcon." This site was built with huge stone blocks, and during the Inca era, it was known as the "House of the Sun." It was an important religious center in the local tradition.

If you enjoy nightlife, youl'll find plenty of discos and bars around the square.

DAY 4: Sacred Valley - Aguas Calientes.

We will start our day with breakfast at your hotel. At approximately 7:30 AM, we will pick you up from your hotel and begin by visiting the Pisac Archaeological Site, located 45 minutes from Cusco.

Pisac will give you insight into the advanced architectural knowledge the Incas achieved during their time. Some studies suggest that it was not a fortress but a rather a type of royal estate during the reign of Inca Pachacutec, consisting of terraces, domestic structures, ceremonial spaces, and aqueducts that provided water for agricultural purposes. Another compelling reason to visit Pisac is its craft market, where you can find unique and authentic souvenirs.

At noon, we will head to the town of Urubamba for a buffet lunch where you can enjoy  delicious Peruvian cuisine. Urubamba was one of the main agricultural centers of the Inca Empire. Currently, the best corn in the world is cultivated here, and during the rainy season, the valley is filled with native fruits such as peaches, capulí, quince, and top-quality strawberries, among others.

In the afternoon, we will visit the Ollantaytambo Fortress, which was an agricultural, religious, and astronomical center. This is inferred from the Colcas, storage units for agricultural products that used wind for preservation, and from its finely carved stone blocks strategically placed in alignment with the Sun God to manage and control the Sacred Valley.

This archaeological site comprises a series of superimposed terraces, displaying impressive large stone blocks located on the upper terrace. At Ollantaytambo, we will board the train to Aguas Calientes, allowing us to visit Machu Picchu early the next day.
