Lake Titicaca is the highest navigable lake in the world and the second largest in South America. It is located between the Peruvian-Bolivian altiplano at about 3,800 meters above sea level. Its maximum depth (it is estimated) exceeds 360 meters. These measurements increase during the rainy season.
It is located on the west side of the Plaza de Armas, in the heart of the city.
Lake Titicaca has countless attractions, its delicious trout, the native boats that look like giant corncobs made of Totora or the religious festivity around the Virgin of Copacabana.
There are also visits to the various archaeological ruins that rest on its islands or the long list of hotels throughout the lake area, this involves numerous outdoor activities, boating, water skiing, fishing and cultural activities.
