We will pick you up from your hotel in Cusco at 7:00 AM in our private vehicle and head to the Horse Hacienda located in the Sacred Valley of the Incas. The journey takes approximately 90 minutes, where we will meet the horseman and our Peruvian Paso horses, recognized as a Cultural Heritage of Peru.

We will begin our 8-hour horseback riding tour of the Sacred Valley of the Incas. You will be assigned a horse, and after a brief ride around the hacienda, we will head out, crossing the Paucarbamba Bridge. We will follow a bridle path near the banks of the Vilcanota River, where you can spot a variety of resident and migratory birds such as cormorants, gulls, freshwater ducks, and black ibis.

Along the way, we will enjoy stunning views of the Andean highlands and pass near an Inca cemetery located in the lower part of the town of Yanahuara. Continuing along the bridle path, we’ll pass the pre-Inca village of Pichingoto, where the source of salt water that gave rise to the Maras salt mines was discovered.

We will arrive in the town of Maras around 1:00 PM, where we will stop for lunch.

After a brief rest, we will continue our horseback ride to the agricultural experimental center of Moray. We will follow a bridle path along the upper part of the complex, where you can admire the majestic terraces of this Inca agricultural laboratory. These terraces were designed to create microclimates that supported the growth of different crops and plants. From this point, we’ll also enjoy views of the snow-capped Veronica, Patakancha, and Chicon mountains.

Around 3:30 PM, we will begin our descent on horseback, enjoying breathtaking panoramic views of the Sacred Valley. Along the way, we’ll pass villages, countryside, fields, and the flora and fauna surrounding the Vilcanota River. We will be back at 05:00 PM to the hacienda, where we will leave the horses and take our private vehicle that will take us back to our hotel in Cusco, ending our visit to the Sacred Valley of the Incas.
