We will pick you up from your hotel in Cusco at 7:30 AM for a one-hour journey through the district of Chinchero to our base in the district of Maras.
This tour takes you along a route that visits two of the most beautiful lagoons north of Cusco, surrounded by breathtaking mountain scenery. We will travel through beautiful landscapes and experience the vibrant culture of the Quechua people as we visit the Huaypo and Piuray lagoons, situated between the provinces of Anta and Urubamba.
These lagoons are home to various fish species and serve as habitats for regional birds. Along the way, you’ll pass through Andean villages and scenic landscapes.
First, we will visit the Huaypo Lagoon, situated at 3,800 meters (12,467 feet) above sea level. Next, we will head to the town of Chinchero to explore the Piuray Lagoon, located at 3,435 meters (11,270 feet) above sea level. This lagoon, formed by surface runoff, boasts impressive natural beauty and a peaceful atmosphere.
After visiting both lagoons, we will return to our base in Maras before taking transportation back to your hotel in Cusco, concluding the tour around 1:00 PM.

We will start our two-lagoon tour on ATVs (all-terrain vehicles) by picking you up from your hotel in Cusco around 7:30 AM. We will travel by private transport for approximately one hour to the town of Maras, located in the Urubamba district.
Our ATV adventure begins here. Before starting the ride, you’ll receive brief and practical driving lessons to ensure you can navigate the area safely and fully enjoy this adrenaline-filled experience amidst the stunning landscapes.
After completing the lessons, we will head to Huaypo Lagoon, a natural attraction surrounded by lush green fields, home to a variety of fish and birds. It’s also a popular spot for water sports like kayaking, thanks to its calm waters. In the distance, you will spot snow-capped peaks such as Veronica, Salkantay, and Soray. Alongside your guide, you’ll learn more about the history and significance of this area.
Next, we will pass through the town of Chinchero to visit Piuray Lagoon, where you can observe seasonal birds such as whistling ducks and Andean gulls. You will also have the chance to interact with local residents and experience the charm and tranquility of this beautiful place.
These lagoons boast incomparable beauty, and along the journey, you will pass through small Andean communities surrounded by multicolored crop fields cultivated by the local people. Your guide will also share fascinating legends about the origins of the lagoons.
Our final stop will be the 5 Nevados viewpoint, offering a unique view of the entire route. We will conclude our two-lagoon ATV tour around 1:00 p.m. before returning to the city of Cusco.
