Itinerary Offer to Cusco, Sacred Valley and Machu Picchu

DAY 1: Cusco – Sacred Valley — Aguas Calientes

We will welcome you at the airport upon your arrival and transfer you to your hotel. In the morning, around 7:00 AM, our transportation will pick you up from your hotel in Cusco, and we’ll head to the town of Pisac. The car journey takes approximately 1 hour, during which you’ll enjoy the mountainous landscape of the Sacred Valley, crossed by the Vilcanota River. You’ll also see expansive cornfields, known for producing some of the largest corn in the world.

We will continue with a visit to the Pisac Archaeological Center, located above the town. At first sight, the center is notable for its terraces, strategically built to enhance agricultural productivity.

After our visit to Pisac, we’ll explore the artisan market, where you will have the chance to admire handwoven alpaca textiles crafted by local artisans. We will also visit silver workshops, where you will find a variety of jewelry and learn about the art of working with this precious metal. At noon, enjoy a delicious buffet lunch at a local restaurant in Urubamba.

After lunch, we continue our tour to Ollantaytambo, located 76 km from Cusco. The Ollantaytambo fortress is strategically situated between three valleys that lead to the Cusco jungle, once controlling the movement of travelers in ancient Tahuantinsuyo. Its architecture features finely carved stone blocks, used for astronomical observation during the Inca era. These colossal stones were transported by the Incas across mountains and rivers, a feat that still amazes visitors today. Ollantaytambo is also considered a town that transcends time, preserving its pre-Hispanic architecture amidst a natural landscape.

After our visit to Ollantaytambo, our transportation will take you to the train station, where you’ll continue your journey to Aguas Calientes (approximately a 2-hour train ride). A hotel representative will meet you at the train station and escort you to your hotel.

You will be captivated by the impressive Inca structures and the breathtaking natural surroundings. Machu Picchu is a marvel of engineering, art, and architecture, seamlessly blending with its natural surroundings.

The citadel encompasses both agricultural and urban areas, featuring plazas, roads, temples, staircases, terraces, and aqueducts, among other structures. The design includes agricultural terraces, supported by stone retaining walls, and a sophisticated hydraulic system of canals and aqueducts for water management. Machu Picchu is renowned for its innovative agricultural engineering.
