DAY 1: December 30, 2024, Cusco — City And Surroundings.

Welcome and airport pickup followed by a transfer to your hotel in Cusco. In the afternoon, around 1:00 PM, we will pick you up from your hotel to begin our city tour, starting with Cusco Cathedral. Next, we will visit the Qorikancha Temple, also known as the Temple of the Sun.

We will continue our guided tour of the archaeological sites surrounding the city of Cusco, including Sacsayhuamán, Q'enqo, Puca Pucara, and Tambomachay. Our tour concludes at Cusco’s Plaza de Armas around 6:00 PM.

DAY 2: December 31, 2024, Maras Moray Bicycle — Aguas Calientes.

We will pick you up from your hotel at 8:30 AM and head northeast of Cusco toward the town of Chinchero. We will take a detour along a road leading to our starting point. Here, our guide will provide information about the route and the safety measures we offer.

Our guide will also provide all the necessary equipment to begin the Maras Moray bike tour. Along the way, you will enjoy breathtaking landscapes, including Huaypo Lagoon and the snow-capped peaks of Salkantay, Veronica, and Pitusiray. You will also encounter local people engaged in their agricultural work. You will visit the Moray archaeological site from above, enjoying a spectacular view known by few.

Later, we will descend to the salt mines, where your guide will share the history and customs of the people of Maras related to salt extraction. Finally, we will descend toward Pichingoto and arrive at the Urubamba road, where our transportation will be waiting for us. You will have time for lunch in Urubamba before we transfer to Ollantaytambo to board the train to Aguas Calientes. You will enjoy a New Year’s Eve Dinner and stay overnight in town to visit Machu Picchu the following morning.

DAY 3: January 1, 2025, Aguas Calientes — Machu Picchu.

Very early, we will transfer to the bus station to ascend to the Machu Picchu Archaeological Sanctuary. The journey takes 25 minutes, and we will finally arrive at Machu Picchu to appreciate the impressive sunrise and the majesty of the citadel. The guide will start the guided tour for you to better understand the history and architecture of the Inca City of Machu Picchu. You will be amazed by the Inca constructions and temples, as well as the natural surroundings. In the afternoon, we will board the return train. Once in Ollantaytambo, we will pick you up from the station to transfer you to your hotel in Cusco.

DAY 4: January 2, 2025, Sacred Valley Of The Incas

The full-day excursion to the Sacred Valley of the Incas begins early at 8:00 AM, with pickup from your hotel. We will drive to the town of Pisac, where our tour begins with a visit to the Pisac Archaeological Site, located 45 minutes from Cusco. Another great reason to visit Pisac is its craft market, where you’ll find a variety of alpaca clothing and handmade crafts that might interest you.

Around noon, we will head to the town of Urubamba, where we will enjoy a buffet lunch—a perfect opportunity to sample Peruvian cuisine. In the afternoon, we will visit the Ollantaytambo Fortress, an ideal time for photography as the light is softer than at midday. Ollantaytambo is an archaeological site rich in history and legends. We will take a 45-minute guided walk through the site. Finally, we will return to Cusco.

The tour begins with an early morning pickup from your hotel, around 4:00 AM. The 3-hour journey takes us southeast of the city to the Kayrawiri community, located at nearly 5,000 meters above sea level. After breakfast in Pitumarca, we continue to Kayrawiri, where your guide will provide recommendations for the 2.5 to 3-hour hike to the impressive Rainbow Mountain, also known as Vinicunca. After enjoying the landscape for about an hour, we return to the starting point for a buffet lunch, followed by a bus ride back to Cusco in the evening.
