The ATV tour to the Rainbow Mountain is one of our exclusive and innovative products. Instead of a 1-hour hike, we replace it with a 20-minute adventure ride to get close to the Rainbow Mountain. This tour is an ATV (All-Terrain Vehicle) adventure in the Andes, providing a completely different experience when visiting Vinicunca (VINIKUNKA).
Our ATV tour to Rainbow Mountain is one of our exclusive and innovative offerings, providing a faster and more accessible way to reach the summit. Instead of hiking uphill for an hour, you will enjoy a 20-minute ATV or motorcycle ride to ascend Vinicunca Mountain.
We will pick you up early from your hotel in Cusco at 4:00 AM and travel through the South Valley, passing beautiful landscapes and observing the daily life of local communities. After a two-hour journey, we will arrive in Pitumarca, where we’ll enjoy an Andean buffet breakfast before continuing to our base in Ccairahuiri.
At the base, our guide will give you instructions on how to use your ATV. After a safe practice session and the instructor’s approval, you will trade the one-hour uphill walk for a 20-minute ATV ride to the impressive Rainbow Mountain in Vinicunca, declared a Unique Natural Treasure in the World.
Rainbow Mountain is located at 5,036 meters (16,522 feet) above sea level. Our guide will explain the orography, ecosystem, and vibrant colors of the mountain, a natural marvel created by the oxidation of various minerals in its geological formations. Rainbow Mountain is almost as high as Everest Base Camp, which stands at 5,389 meters above sea level.
After finishing your visit to the mountain, you will return to the base to drop off the ATVs and head to the restaurant for lunch.
The afternoon return marks the end of your Full-Day ATV Tour to Rainbow Mountain. After experiencing the natural and cultural wonders of the region, we will head back to Cusco, arriving at your hotel around 4:00 PM, giving you plenty of time to rest.
