The Peruvian photographer will present on April 20 the exhibition "Alta Moda", with unpublished images of typical costumes from the southern region of Cuzco.
Have you been left speechless when admiring the typical costumes of Cusco? Mario Testino has been able to capture this amazement to present it in an exhibition of 27 photographs, where he will reflect the color and texture of the traditional costumes and dances of the provinces of Cusco, Calca, Chumbivilcas, Espinar and Paucartambo, among other locations. Testino took these portraits between 2007 and 2011, during his various trips to Cusco.
In a statement from his association MATE, Mario Testino said, "Creating this work has been a very special personal project, not only because I explore the heritage of my country and the impact it is having worldwide, but also because, through this exhibition, I have the opportunity to show Peru and the world the beauty, historical richness and importance of Peruvian tradition".
In addition to the exhibition, which will remain open until September 16 at the MATE Association in Lima, the photographer will present a publication in which the images of "Alta Moda" are reproduced, including a note from the magazine's editor.
