Ollantaytambo Town
The Inca People Living
location:
At the opposite end from Pisac and 80 km from Cusco is Ollantaytambo town.
description:
The town was divided in rectangular blocks with a well designed geometrical scheme that seems a town to be designed by modern architects. Its narrow streets go towards Urubamba river. Every block is compound by a group of houses that share a door to the central patio. There are straight street distributions that have been populated from Inca times.

attractives:
The town itself
The current town is located over an Inca town. It is divided in two by Patakancha creek. Qosqo Ayllu: is the eastern portion that covers the main square and 4 parallel streets.
Patakancha Araqama Ayllu: It covers the western side of Ollantaytambo which is has many archeological units.
The streets
In Qosqo Ayllu there are four parallel to creek streets which are: Pata Kalle, Chaupi Kalli, Horno Kalli and Laris Kalli. We can also mention the following transversal streets: Qowekalli, PhuyyKalli, UmaKalli, RosasKalli and K'ijtuKalli. All theses streets make 15 blocks that make this part of Ollantaytambo.
Train station
It is located in the mouth of the creek to Vilcanota river (Urubamba). It is the train station that is used to go to Machu Picchu and pass point for the trains from Cusco to Machu Picchu.
Punku Punku or Llakta Punku
It is located on the last bend of the road to enter Ollantaytambo town. It is a big gate that was built with stone polyhedrons with clay mortar. The name can be translated as gate of gates and Llakta Punku as town gate. Llakta Punku is not only the entrance but all the area, it is the group that covers the wall, aqueducts and some nearby buildings.
