Installed at the Cabrera colonial house. This extraordinary monument of history in Cusco city has the first and only museum in Peru that is dedicated in highlight the different cultures of Peru. The museum exhibits these cultures in the order that came to live: the wooden living room, Nazca, Mochica, Huari, Chimu, Inka, Virreynal, living room of Gold and Silver.

The 403 pieces of art Starts from 1250 before Christ to 1532 after Christ, and they were selected from 45,000 objects from the cellar of the Archaeological Museum of Larco in Lima. The spectacular lighting makes the paintings come alive just like the sculptures of the pre-historic Peru in the 11 art rooms.

Its architecture shows the magnificent colonial art, like the exterior balcony that its central columns have the shape of caryatid.

It belongs to the University of San Antonio Abad of Cusco, it possess a collection of archaeological pieces of the Inka culture.

In this museum you can find a total of 10,000 specimens that are all catalogue, in which you can find about 40 idols of green colour, and big variety of objects made in gold and silver, ceramics and Inca textiles, a room of coffers from the Inca period and many others.

Museum of Religious Art
Location: Corner of Hatunrumiyoq and Herrajes streets in the ancient palace Arzobispal.

In the times of the Incas, was the house of Inka Roca and its people, as its testimony we have the wall that was made of rock, in which we can find the famous twelve angle rock.

You can also see the huge door and the balconies are beautiful hand carved, in the inside of the patio you can see the arch that has all kinds of different baseboards.

Museum and Monastery of Santa Catalina

The place that actually now is occupied by the museum, was called in the times of the Incas as Acllawasi, here the most beautiful woman were taken to worship the sun and the other ones to the Inka, the novels and all the ones that made all the textiles, and the culinary.

The museum offers and exquisite architecture of colonial that belongs to the last times of the renascence, with presence of roman style, it also has paintings from the school of Cusco from the XVII and XVIII, there huge from the colonial time, here you can see the colourful colonial paintings.

Museum of Popular Art

Monday through Friday: 09:00 to 13:00 and also 15:00 a 17:00 hrs.
Saturday and holidays   : 09:00 to 12:00 hrs.

It has rooms that show the best work in crafting, in making of dolls, masks, and child and idols. It also shows photographs of the ancient Cusco that are a testimony of import facts, like cultural manifestations, colonial houses photographs, streets and temples.

Museum of Contemporary Art
Location: Plaza Regocijo s/n (Regocijo Square s/n) Telephone. 227152.

The museum is located in the municipal palace of Cusco (Square of Cusipata-Regocijo). Here you can find the exposition of paintings, craft, and sculptures of modern art from the most important artist in the Cusco City. 

It has two show rooms were you can see the exhibits of different artist that are international a nationals, this exhibits are program through out the year.

Regional Historic Museum

Located in a colonial house of the writer Gracilazo de la Vega Chimpuocllo, the edification dates from the XVI century and at the beginning of the XVII century, it was built in top of some Incas platforms that made up the Cusipata Main. This place offers to the tourist a beautiful collection of archaeological objects of the pre-Inca culture, it also has a very unique collection of paintings from the colonial times that shows the great successful of the cusquenian artists.

In the outer yard of Qoricancha, there is a museum where is explicated the functions that were made in that temple.

Centro Qosqo de Arte Nativo:

Monumento al inka Pachacutec:
Pachacutec led Inca forces against the powerful Chancas (a Native American society from the north of Cusco). He won what many thought was a hopeless situation. He declared himself Inca and started a dynasty that expanded the Inca Empire to Colombia in the north
and to Chile in the south. With 6 million inhabitats, the Inca Empire was larger and richer than Spain at arrival of Fransisco Pizarro.
